Law Summer School
An understanding of the law can get you a long way, whether it’s knowing your rights at a protest march or negotiating a corporate merger. From police interviews to boardroom conferences, it is very often the lawyers who call the shots.
Succeeding in the law demands sharp analytical thinking, exceptional attention to detail, and at times, a flair for the dramatic. Law is demanding and complex, but mastering it is both intellectually thrilling and deeply rewarding.
At the Law Summer School, you’ll sharpen your problem-solving skills, develop a keen eye for flaws in arguments or evidence, and build the confidence to advocate persuasively – whether in court or beyond.
Each Law Summer School event is built around experiential learning – whether you’re advising a client, negotiating a business deal, or honing your advocacy skills, you’ll gain hands-on experience in a supportive environment that values and celebrates excellence.
In addition to the options available in person, the online course also offers an exclusive deep dive into international and human rights law – perfect for students eager to explore the most pressing legal challenges of the 21st century.
The Law Summer School – Part 1 (Criminal Law, Family Law and Advocacy). See a more detailed outline for this course.
The Law Summer School – Part 2 (Contract Law, Civil Wrongs and Corporate Law). See a more detailed outline for this course.
The Law Summer School – Part 3 (International and Human Rights Law). See a more detailed outline for this course.
Students can choose to attend one, two, or all three parts of the Summer School. Each course stands alone – there’s no prerequisite to take Part 1 before joining Part 2 or 3 – but together, they offer a well-rounded foundation in legal studies.
Each course will include introductions to key areas of the law, seminars on some tricky and controversial legal questions, lively debates, and advocacy practice exercises. Engage in in-depth discussions with expert tutors, tackle complex legal problems alongside ambitious peers, and experience what studying law at university is really like.
Our tutors aren’t just subject specialists – they’re outstanding communicators who bring law to life. Selected for their academic excellence and teaching ability, they’re passionate about sharing their knowledge – see our tutors page for some example profiles.
Small seminar groups ensure personalised feedback, close guidance from tutors, and plenty of opportunities for collaboration in discussions and group work.
