Through engaging debates, hands-on simulations, and team-based challenges, students will step into the roles of diplomats, negotiators, and world leaders. They will develop skills in public speaking, strategic thinking, and collaboration, gaining a deeper understanding of how international decisions are made.

During the course, students will step into the role of diplomats, representing countries and international organizations in a simulated global summit. They will debate key issues such as trade, conflict resolution, and the migration crisis, learning to negotiate and build alliances to find solutions to real-world challenges. Through practical exercises and role-playing activities, they will develop essential diplomatic skills, including strategic thinking, public speaking, and teamwork. Along the way, they will also gain insight into how international institutions like the United Nations and the World Trade Organisation operate, helping them understand the complexities of global decision-making.

This is a highly interactive course, designed to be both fun and thought-provoking. Students will be encouraged to think critically, communicate confidently, and develop creative solutions to complex international issues.

Through guided discussions, practical exercises, and exciting role-play activities, students will gain a greater awareness of global affairs while developing key skills for future leadership.

Young Diplomats Summer School Practical Details

📅 Course Dates: The Young Diplomats Summer School is open to students aged 11–14 and will take place on 14th – 15th August 2025.

📍 Location: The course will be held at Woburn House, Bloomsbury, Central London (nearest tube: Russell Square). [See more location details here.] This is a non-residential course, so students requiring accommodation must arrange this independently.

Teaching Hours: The in-person course runs for two days, with teaching hours from 10:30 am to 4:30 pm each day. Lunch will be from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm. Please note that parental supervision is required during the lunch break, or students may leave the building unaccompanied with a signed permission slip.
