Elly has a PhD in Children's Literature from the University of York. She currently works as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Aarhus University, Denmark, where she is working on a history of adventure in children's literature, and from September she will be Senior Lecturer in British and American Literature at the University of Oslo. Her first book, Malory's Magic Book: King Arthur and the Child, 1862-1980 will be published in 2019. She also has a first class BA in English and a MSt in Medieval Literature from Merton College, University of Oxford. Her other research interests include ecocriticism, medievalism, Victorian literature, fantasy, and representations of food in literature.
