Medicine 2 (Neurology, Psychiatry & Medical Ethics)

This two-day course will look at the proper functioning of the brain, covering both neurology and psychiatric medicine, as well as related debates in medical ethics.

We will look at the normal operations of the brain in terms of vision, somatic sensation, hearing and reflexes, and how problems with these can reveal underlying neurological problems. In addition we will look at the rapidly developing field of psychiatric medicine, and how some of the most serious psychiatric disorders are diagnosed and categorised.

All of our online courses consist of small seminar groups, with lots of opportunities for discussion and debate with peers as well as learning from our expert tutors. This will be a fully live and interactive event, with a certificate of attendance issued upon completion of the course.

This style of learning is an excellent preparation for university, and should give participants a real taste of medicine as an undergraduate subject, enabling students to make a more informed choice about medicine as a future study or career option.
